Turtletrash offers reliable trash pickup and recycling pickup to residences and HOAs in Wilmington NC. Unlike any other collection service in the area, we are particularly well-suited for the beach -- from our mini collection trucks that are easier on roads/fit down tight spaces, to our donations to local sea turtle foundations. We would love to service your home or neighborhood!

Smaller Trucks

Our fleet is brand new and built for efficiency. We use smaller trucks that can easily maneuver tight beach roads, use less fuel, run quieter, and still haul a ton of waste! Small green trucks, big green impact.

We bring bins up driveways!

Above and beyond service

Turtletrash goes beyond curbside pickup. We bring bins back up driveways, give residents direct contact with their collector, and deliver personal service you’ll know on a first-name basis.

Our plastic injection machine makes cool pots with plastic bottle tops!

Turtleplastics® Recycling

Beyond standard recycling, we’ve created an in-house program that turns bottle caps and other plastics (#2, #4, #5) into tiles, furniture, and art. We hand-sort, shred, and mold plastics that are often hard to recycle, keeping them out of the ocean while giving them a second life.

We get out and actually volunteer for trash cleanups!

Active Volunteers

You’ll find us outside of collection routes too — at beach cleanups, sea turtle nest walks, and community events. We also supply recycled plastic to local artists, keeping our efforts community-focused.

We donate to local sea turtle foundations!

Proceeds to Local Sea Turtle Orgs

Part of every bill goes directly to local sea turtle foundations like Karen B, PISTP, and WBSTP. Turtletrash was built with coastal preservation at its core — giving back to the NC coast we all love.

  • Our residential service area currently includes South Wilmington (zipcodes 28409 and 28412) and North Wilmington (zipcodes 28405 and 28411). Please reach out if your zipcode is not listed as we are actively looking to add new service areas!

  • Acceptable items include household waste - food, plastic bags, pet waste, and styrofoam. Unacceptable items include non-household waste - roof shingles, paint, concrete, stone, dirt, chemicals, and flammable items.

  • Acceptable items include household recycling - cans, glass, cartons, paper, cardboard and plastic containers. Unacceptable items include - plastic bags, styrofoam, electronics, batteries, yard waste, wood scraps, metal scraps, aerosols, wire/hoses, and clothing.

  • Trash is serviced every week and recycling is serviced every other week. Please see the calendar page for specific pickup days in your area

  • We pickup bulk items every other week on Wednesdays (non-recycling weeks). Please see the calendar page for more info.

  • Please place your bin out the night before your scheduled pickup! We will do our best to retrieve a bin if it is not out, however placing your bin curbside the night before will ensure you are not missed!
